MANAGING DIRECTOR CELEBRATES 40 YEARS IN ESTATE AGENCY

Murray Lee, managing director and owner of Dreamview Estates, celebrates 40 years working as an Estate Agent in the NW London area today, 10th April 1973.

He started as a junior negotiator for Alan Sadick & Co in Edgware, progressing to firms in Hendon between 1976 and 1994..

In 1994 he moved, not far, to Golders Green where he was a director in a firm until last year in September when he branched out on his own opening Dreamview Estates.

Murray is well know throughout the NW London agency market and is know for his high standards of professionalism being a long term member of the NAEA since 1984 and more recently ARLA.

He prides himself on his memory of the many sales and prices of the properties he has been involved with.

People have returned to him many times over to act for him and one of his claims to fame is to have sold the same flat 4 times over  and, very recently the same house for the 3rd time all for different parties.

Estate agents come it two varieties - the local independent and the national chain. At Dreamview Estates we are proud of our independence.

The local agent may have been established in the area for decades and have deep local roots. They will know everyone and everything that affects the local market. And they have a reputation to maintain, so they have a strong motivation to act professionally. They usually have lobg serving staff who have been looking after the same clienst for many years.

The national chain, on the other hand, has the clout of a big organisation behind it. They will have a database of clients from all over the country, perhaps internationally, who may be interested in your property. They can get cheap deals on advertising. Their headquarters will have a press department who may be able to get your house into the property pages of the newspapers.

So choosing between local knowledge and national reach can be difficult.
